The road to parenting is riddled with decisions from when & where to give birth to what to name your little wonder. But for many expectant parents, the very first decision of all is when to break out the good news.
I began to have severe anxiety around the time I conceived…..I just “felt” different…… It was not in my head (as my husband likes to put it). We went for a pregnancy test and Yes, it was positive.
I still can recall every single expression on my husband’s face as he sees the test strip lines turning double, making all those phone calls to the near & dear ones to announce the pregnancy, and hearing the excitement of the arrival in their voices.
We were getting ready to welcome baby in this beautiful world. We had picked out names, we had cleared our bedroom to make space for our baby & her belongings and we had dreamt a lot about doing the most important thing in our life – Build, nurture and develop our baby’s self and being.
All this while, one thing I kept tied in my mind was that the baby is a miracle and I should be happy.
Finally, the day came and we were blessed with a fairy angel.
While I was still sub-conscious, our doctor just told me to have a glimpse of my lil wonder. It was both uplifting and heartbreaking to watch.
It felt like everything in the world was perfect at that very moment. It’s amazing, life changing, the most beautiful feeling in the world. It’s an instantaneous love! You won’t truly know what I’m talking about until you do it, and then you’ll understand immediately! 🙂
Suddenly you’ll feel a new appreciation for your own mother and all she went through having you.
It’s amazingly amazing and I was just lovin it!
But it didn’t last long as I lost consciousness and when I regained it, I was shifted from the OT to the hospital room waiting for my baby to arrive from the Nursery !!!
